FAQS

'Fragrance' is listed as one of the ingredients in this product. What does this mean?

When MooGoo first started making products, a blend of essentials oils was used to create their lovely fragrances. But many people have severe reactions and allergies to them, even in small amounts. As a result, and because MooGoo make products for people with sensitive skin, they were taken out of most products. Instead, MooGoo helped to develop a special kind of fragrant oil, whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. This is how MooGoo can create pleasant-smelling products that won’t cause a reaction. The scents MooGoo use are proprietary blends from the company they are sourced from, and MooGoo haven’t received any complaints of reactions since making the switch. Also, of course, the formula is free from phthalates, which is the main concern in fragrances.

My Shea Sorbet is hard. What’s the best way to apply it?

At room temperature Shea Sorbet is solid and can be a bit harder in the winter. The best way to apply it is to rub a small chunk of the balm in between hands to warm it up to body temperature and then generously apply to your rough spots and allow to soak in overnight. If treating really crusty heels, apply and cover with socks to help lock in that extra moisture.

What ingredients does MooGoo avoid when making their butter balm?

There's lots of things you won't find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. MooGoo don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing to do.

MooGoo also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty commonly found, including with a few brands that claim to be natural. MooGoo avoid a lot of other things too, including any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA. You can trust this product just contains natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin, as body care products should.
