Overview

MooGoo made their Oil Cleansing Method with a mixture of drawing and moisturising oils to remove impurities such as built-up dirt, sweat and makeup, while the moisturising oils, such as Jojoba Oil, are high in antioixdants to help keep skin hydrated and soft. This means you can cleanse and moisturise your skin at the same time - how's that for multi-tasking? Cleansing with oil is beneficial as it doesn't strip the skin of its natural oils, which can ultimately lead to an overproduction of more oil and lead to further breakouts.

FAQs

How do you use the Oil Cleansing Method?

Simply massage oil into the skin. The longer you do this, the better as it allows the oil to penetrate deeper into the pores and dissolve old oil that can be clogging your pores. It’s also a great excuse for a face massage which feels really nice too. Wet your hands with water and massage again to emulsify the oils, then rinse off with water.

For an extra deep clean, after oil has been massaged into the skin, soak a washcloth in hot water, wring out and place on face to steam out built up impurities. This will help pores open up and allow the oils to penetrate further. Rinse with water or wipe face clean with a washcloth. Follow with your favourite serum and moisturiser (such as the Night Cream) for a complete night time skincare routine.

Why don’t we make different cleansers for different skin types?

It may seem odd that we only make 1 formula of our Oil Cleansing Method for all skin types since many companies offer different ones for oily, dry, normal and combination. In our opinion, we don’t think it’s needed if you make a good cleanser. If you look closely you might notice that there isn’t much difference in the ingredient listings anyway. It’s kind of like pet food made specifically for indoor pets and outdoor pets (which is actually a thing) – not sure what difference this would make.

A cleanser intended for oily skin has a higher concentration of cleansers than a dry skin cleanser because more cleaning is required. But you can achieve much the same result by just varying the amount of cleanser you use and wash twice if needed.

Are you cleansers safe for lash extensions?

The Milk Wash is great for lash extensions. It has the same irritation score as water and uses a combination of gentle natural cleansers. Oils can break down the glue used, so steer clear of using the Oil Cleansing Method on the eye area whilst you’ve got lashes on.
